Consider This

Have you ever felt like time is slipping away from you? For me, there are plenty of good reasons for it, but also a long list of excuses.

For instance, my husband started a new job which required us to relocate. So, our days have been busy with all the elements required to move, including contacting our realtor, finding a new town, finding a neighborhood and a home, making an offer, negotiating the sale, the inspection, the details and documents, closing, and as of two weeks ago, the move itself! It takes a careful order of events for all of this to happen.

That leads me to a very important question – have you ever considered that God’s creation had to be very carefully ordered to ensure the survival of it all?

We recently watched a documentary titled “Is Genesis History?” It is extremely fascinating and brought up things I had never considered before. It is full of highly educated people who are looking at what most people see as Creation versus Evolution and in doing so, those people don’t see the book of Genesis as historical. In fact, one scholar even suggested that we, as believers and theologians, don’t see Genesis as the foundation of the history we see all around us. I’m going to be truthful and admit that there were parts I had to rewind and listen to again because the conversation was deep.

These scholars work in the fields of Biology, Astronomy, Theologians, Physics, Paleontology, and Archeology, and a common thread for all of them is Creation (I encourage you to watch it if you have a moment to do so).

The Biologist had the most poignant statement that struck me hard. He said, “everything God created had to be created in such a specific way and at a specific time, so that everything immediately worked together exactly as it should.” If you just take that one phrase, you can’t help but wipe away any questions regarding Creation. Yes, things evolve, and why? Because God created it with the ability to do so! It is not because of evolution that we are who we are, it is because we were made in His image, just as he intended us to be.

For me, this was a drop the mic moment, but also, a reminder of a God who cares for me. He created all He did, in me, for me, so that I can in turn, praise the God with whom I have a relationship with.

Genesis, and all of the Bible, is a history lesson of the earth, of nature, of humanity and of our future home for all those who call Him Abba Father. I love having these moments with God, and I am so thankful that I can share them with others. In a world that sees only the dark and angry, be the light and the joy that He created you to be! Take a moment and take in all His wonders.

Until next time.
